The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 has 7 lenses in 5 groups (including aspherical lens), 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom giving a combined zoom of 12x.

Still image format is JPEG (Exif 2.2), DCF standard, DPOF compliant and movie format is AVI (Motion JPEG), audio is WAV (mono) and these can be stored in the 15.4MB built-in internal flash memory or on SD/SDHC/MMC/MMCplus memory cards.

ISO sensitivity in still image is auto, 80/100/200/400/800 and in movie is auto. Anti Shake DSP which compensates for blurring due to shaky hands or subject movement uses ISO 800 and ISO 1600 is used with high sensitivity BESTSHOT modes. White Balance has auto, manual and six modes and the flash system offers auto, rapid flash, soft flash, red-eye reduction, flash on and flash off. The Exilim Zoom EX-Z1050 is powered by a proprietary Super Life rechargeable lithium-ion battery (NP-40) which has an approximate continuous playback life of 9 hours. The recording modes include voice recorder, still image, movie with audio and 36 preselected scenarios in BESTSHOT. The widescreen 2.6" TFT colour LCD offers playback as: movie, trimming, still (4x zoom), calendar, favourites, slideshow, reverse and rotate.
